Stop The Chop is a tower defense game, where you play as a Sloth that is defending the last tree in his forest from being chopped down. The sloth can defend the tree by flinging fruit at incoming enemies, and can upgrade to better defenses through a talent tree after each level. This game was made through a contract with a Green-Peace company to promote awareness of the problem in the rain forests. We did not end up finishing this game due to the contract not going through, but I still accomplished and learned a lot from the experience.
This project was developed in C# and XNA Game Studio 4.0 targeted for the Windows Phone mobile platform. In this project I learned a lot about designing a game targeted for a mobile platform, and how to make mechanics more comfortable for use with a touch interface. I also learned valuable information about the importance of user testing, and how to incorporate it into your game to make it better.
My Tasks:
-Worked with the team to design the game and mechanics from the ground up
-Implemented mechanics for incoming enemies and defensive monkeys
-Gathered and compiled feedback through user testing during the development process
-Implemented the art for the talent tree and button transitions
